Cinderella Castle. The five Gothic-arched panels are approximately 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide. The story begins with Cinderella and her stepsisters learning about the royal ball. Later panels show the Fairy Godmother transforming Cinderella’s clothing, Cinderella losing her glass slipper, the slipper fitting her foot, and Cinderella riding away with Prince Charming. The murals were designed by Disney Legend and Imagineer Dorothea Redmond. Mosaicist Hanns-Joachim Scharff and his team translated the artwork into hundreds of thousands of individual pieces of colored glass. Small details reward guests who look closely. Facial expressions, clothing, jewels, background characters, and shimmering materials help each scene feel far more elaborate than a traditional painted mural.
