Rise of the Resistance is not really a ride. It is an experience disguised as an attraction. The first time you ride, it feels less like standing in line for a theme park attraction and more like accidentally walking into your own Star Wars movie. From the moment the story begins, things continue getting bigger and more impressive around every corner. There are multiple ride systems, huge environments, unexpected moments, and enough surprises that people walk off wondering how Disney even pulled it off. Hollywood Studios has plenty of great attractions, but Rise of the Resistance still feels like one of the most ambitious things Disney

has ever built. ⭐🚀

Experience

Trying to describe Rise of the Resistance without ruining surprises feels almost impossible. The attraction starts one way and somehow continues transforming into something much larger. Guests quickly become part of a Resistance mission before things spiral into complete chaos. Massive spaces, giant vehicles, detailed environments, and multiple ride moments create an experience that constantly changes around you. The attraction mixes dark ride elements, trackless ride systems, movement, and storytelling in ways that feel completely seamless. Just when you think you know where things are heading, something else happens.

ℹ️ Info

Type of Attraction: Trackless dark ride with multiple ride systems

Height Requirement: 40 inches

Accessibility: Must transfer from wheelchair/ECV

Intensity: Moderate. Sudden movement, darkness, loud effects, and simulated battle moments

Duration: About 18 minutes total experience

Location: Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Queue

Even the queue here feels like part of the attraction. Guests move through Resistance camps, caves, equipment areas, and detailed environments that slowly build the story before the ride even begins. Almost every section feels intentional and packed with details. Large portions stay indoors while others move outdoors through Batuu scenery. The queue does an excellent job making long waits feel shorter because there is constantly something happening around you. Even Lightning Lane skips portions worth seeing.

Tips

⚡ Lightning Lane can save a huge amount of time here

🎬 Avoid spoilers before your first ride if possible

📱 Put your camera down occasionally and enjoy the experience

🌙 Galaxy's Edge feels incredible at night before or after riding

🚶 Take time walking through the queue because details are everywhere

The Good

  • One of Disney's most immersive attractions ever created

  • Massive scale and storytelling

  • Queue feels like part of the experience

  • Different ride systems keep things exciting

  • Feels like stepping into a Star Wars movie

The Not-So-Good

  • Long waits are very common

  • Ride downtime can happen

  • Can feel overwhelming for younger guests

  • Lightning Lane may skip some queue details

🌟 Final Thoughts

Rise of the Resistance somehow goes beyond being a ride and turns into something much bigger. The attraction blends storytelling, technology, and scale in ways that still feel impressive years later. Even people who are not huge Star Wars fans often walk away amazed simply because of how ambitious it feels. If Hollywood Studios has one attraction that truly deserves "must-do" status, Rise of the Resistance is probably it. ⭐✨🚀
