Tatooine Traders is one of the most recognizable retail locations tied directly to an attraction inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, and it’s designed to feel like a natural extension of the Star Tours experience. Instead of functioning as a standalone shop, it works as the exit space for the ride, blending storytelling and retail into one continuous flow. You don’t just walk into Tatooine Traders, you arrive there as part of the attraction. That connection gives it a very specific purpose and identity within the park. It feels like a marketplace you stumble into after your journey.

Experience

The experience here is built around that exit-through-the-gift-shop design. As you leave Star Tours, you’re funneled directly into the space, making it feel like a continuation of the story rather than a separate stop. The layout encourages browsing, with multiple pathways and

displays that pull you deeper into the shop. You’ll also notice a build-your-own lightsaber area within the space, which adds another layer of activity and gives the shop a more interactive feel. It’s not as immersive as Savi’s Workshop, but it still creates a moment where guests can stop and engage rather than just browse. You can also enter from the outside, but it feels most natural coming off the ride. It’s one of the smoother transitions between attraction and retail in the park.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere leans into a slightly chaotic, marketplace feel that fits well with the Star Tours theme. It’s not as immersive as Galaxy’s Edge, but it still carries a strong Star Wars i

dentity. The space feels busy, layered, and a little more playful than serious. Displays are packed and varied, which adds to that “trading outpost” vibe. It’s not subtle, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s meant to feel active and full.

Final Thoughts

Tatooine Traders works best as an extension of Star Tours rather than a standalone store. It continues the experience in a way that feels natural and easy, while still offering a solid selection of merchandise. It may not be the most immersive Star Wars shop in the park, but it’s one of the most convenient. If you’re coming off the ride, it’s definitely worth a look.
