Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom 🚂

🚧 The railroad is currently operating only between Main Street and Fantasyland Stations (Storybook Circus), as portions of the track near Cars Land construction are temporarily closed. Giving guests a partial but still magical ride through the park.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is more than just a way to get around Magic Kingdom. It is a piece of Disney history and a direct connection to Walt Disney's lifelong love of trains. Guests climb aboard beautifully restored vintage steam trains for a relaxing ride

through the park, complete with the sound of the whistle, the rhythm of the tracks and some great views along the way. It may not be the fastest transportation in Magic Kingdom, but that's really not the point.

The Walt Disney World Railroad uses authentic narrow-gauge steam trains that were originally built between 1916 and 1928 and later restored for Walt Disney World. Normally, the railroad circles Magic Kingdom with stations at Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland and Fantasyland. Currently, however, the train is operating on a modified route between Main Street, U.S.A. and Fantasyland while major construction takes place around Frontierland. The ride is slow, peaceful and suitable for every age, making it a nice chance to sit down and see Magic Kingdom from a completely different perspective.

The railroad has boarding areas at Main Street Station near the park entrance and Fantasyland Station near Storybook Circus. The queues are fairly simple, and much of

your wait depends on when the next train arrives. If you've just missed one, you may have a little longer to wait, while arriving just before boarding can make this one of the easiest attractions of the day. Main Street Station is also worth taking a few minutes to look around rather than treating it only as a place to catch the train.

🚂 Don't think of the railroad only as transportation. Riding the train is an attraction in itself and part of Walt Disney's story

🏰 Main Street Station is extremely convenient if you want to head toward Fantasyland without walking through the center of the park

The Walt Disney World Railroad is easy to overlook when you're rushing between rides, but we think it's worth slowing down for at least once. Walt Disney's love of trains played a huge role in the creation of his theme parks, so there is something special about riding a real steam train around Magic Kingdom. The current construction means you don't get the traditional full loop right now, but the ride between Main Street and Fantasyland is still a relaxing way to travel and a little piece of classic Disney that deserves more attention than it gets.
