Pharos Lighthouse draws in all who venture as a beacon leading its guest to the entry of Islands of Adventure. "Let the Adventure Begin"- A message for all visitors, welcoming you to walk through The Port of Entry and be transported to another world. Pass by shops and food, ushering you to continue down the streets of this historic Mediterranean market before opening up to reveal the Islands surrounding the port.
Proceeding to your left, you come to Marvel Super Hero Island. Walking under the green track of The Incredible Hulk rollercoaster roaring by gives a quick adrenalin rush and the anticipation of the day to come. After The Incredible Hulk you will come upon Storm Force Accelatron, a spinning ride where you control the speed of the spin, before passing by Cafe 4, among other food and shops. Come across two 185-foot tall towers to Doctor Dooms Fear Fall, a ride that shoots riders up and then lets them fall back to the ground. As you continue further into this island you will find The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, a 3D experience with a moving vehicle that gives you the feeling of high speed chases and falling as you follow the Sinister 6 through New York. Continuing down the street, get an opportunity to meet Spiderman and other Marvel characters throughout the day and if you are looking for souvenirs, a comic book shop and souvenir shops carry all your Marvel Super Hero needs. Looking for food or a snack? Find an Auntie Anne's to your left, a snack cart to your right, and Captain America Diner in front of you, not to mention an ice cream stand as you head out of Marvel Super Hero Island and into the next comic book area.
Toon Lagoon, a tribute to those Sunday Funnies so many grew up reading. This super colorful island is home to comic book restaurants like Comic Strip Cafe, Cathy's Ice Cream, Blondies, and Wimpy's, along with shops, and the UOAP (Universal Orlando Annual Passholder) lounge. This area has Popeye and Blutos Bilge-Rat Barge (you will get wet and probably soaked), and Dudley Doo Rights Ripsaw Falls, a drop down a waterfall. For the younger ones there is Me Ship the Olive a place to run, play, and climb and for the even littler ones there is a space called Sweet Pea’s Playpen.
Crossing the bridge out of Toon Lagoon brings you to Skull Island: Reign of Kong a dark simulator ride where you can come face-to-face with Kong himself. Continuing on through Jurassic Park, find several snack carts and Thunder Falls Terrace, before arriving to Camp Jurassic to your right, which is a large play area for the entire family where Pteranodon Flyers is located, a ride designed for kids and you must have a child 36"-56" accompany you. Then to the left you will find Jurassic Park River Adventure, a winding river ride that gets out of control until you make a 85-foot plunge in complete darkness. Walk beyond Jurassic Park River Adventure to find the Raptor Encounter, Pizza Predattoria and the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, a area with dinosaur skeletons, learning opportunities, a Dino hatching area, a shop, and Burger Digs, where you can get burgers. Before heading out of Jurassic Park, walk by a few games, snack carts, and The Watering Hole before immerging next to monster of a rollercoaster. Those who love a super thrill, to the right you will find VelciCoaster, which is Florida’s tallest and fastest launch roller coaster with twist, turns, drops, and loops.
Leaving Jurassic Park brings us to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade. Hogwarts Castle greets you to the left and is home to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a 3D simulator ride on a moving arm to give you a feeling of flying. Across from Hogwarts Castle is Flight of the Hippogriff, a family rollercoaster. As you continue your adventure through Hogsmeade you might spot a show or two on the stage near Flight of the Hippogriff, where the Frog Choir and Triwizard Spirit Rally alternating times on the stage. You can also stop in at Olivander's to experience a wand choosing ceremony. Be sure to stop by your favorite shops from the Harry Potter books and movies. If you are looking for food check out Three Broomsticks or one of the many snack carts throughout Hogsmeade. Don’t forget to stop by one of the Butterbeer carts and choose your favorite, hot (during the cooler months), cold or frozen Butterbeer. Then to your left you will stumble across Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure a high speed ride on a bike with a sidecar as you travel past many magical creatures. Before leaving Hogsmeade you will see the train station to your left. If you have a two park ticket and want to head over to Diagonally, you can do this at the station and see an adventure on the way. Otherwise, continue on to the next Island in Islands of Adventure, The Lost Continent.
This island is home to the Mystic Fountain, an interactive attraction, along with shops, and restaurants, including Mythos which has won #1 theme park restaurant status many times.
From The Lost Continent you will make your way to the final “island” of Seuss Landing. Dr. Seuss books come to life in this whimsical and colorful land. Here you will find shops and restaurants themed after Dr. Seuss books, as well as rides for the younger ones in the family. Stop by for a Moose Juice, Goose Juice, or perhaps a Hop on Pop Ice Cream or a sweet treat from the Candy Cookers. Then to your left you will find the High in the Sky Trolly Ride that takes you over Suess Landing. You might even be able to catch Oh! the Stories You’ll hear! This show takes place near the All the Books You Can Read store. Venturing along, to the right is Caro-Seuss-el, where you can ride Dr. Seuss’ characters a straight ahead, to the left, is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, a ride that spins you as you control the ups and downs while listening to a rhyme to help you not get wet, but in the end you will probably get wet! Just beyond that to the left is The Cat in the Hat ride. Get into trouble with that mischievous cat in this slow but crazy ride. Before leaving Seuss Landing you will see to the right If I Ran the Zoo, a play area for kids to run and explore, and Green Eggs and Ham Cafe, a place where you can get tots covered in a variety of delicious toppings.
Leaving Seuss Landing brings us back to the Port of Entry area. This park definitely has something for every age and you are sure to have a great time!
A point to mention about Islands of Adventure is that many of the carts and quick service food locations close early so be sure to check the hours so to not be disappointed.
