We recently had the pleasure of dining at Rise Southern Biscuit and Righteous Chicken, a restaurant that serves comfort food with a refreshing twist.
The Atmosphere
Stepping into Rise Southern Biscuit and Righteous Chicken, we were instantly enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor embraced the charm and character of their biscuits, featuring bright colors and themed art.
The friendly staff further enhanced the experience, showcasing their enthusiasm for the dishes they serve. Whether you are a traveler or a local, it's uplifting to encounter a team eager to recommend their favorites and share their passion for the menu.
The Menu Highlights
The menu at Rise boasts an array of tantalizing dishes. We decided to focus on several standout items that caught our attention.
Hot Honey Butter Chicken on a Blueberry Biscuit

The Hot Honey Butter Chicken served on a Blueberry Biscuit was a dish suggested to us by the chef. This dish is perfect for anyone who enjoys a mix of sweet and savory flavors. The chicken was perfectly fried, boasting a crispy exterior and enveloped in a sweet and slightly spicy honey butter sauce that provided just enough kick.
The standout element was the Blueberry Biscuit. Soft and fluffy, it complemented the dish and wove wonderfully together with the Hot Honey Butter Chicken. We were worried the blueberry would be overpowering, but it was far from it, and with each bite, we experienced a symphony of flavors, reminding us of why we love exploring Orlando.
The Righteous Chicken Sandwich

Next, we savored The Righteous Chicken Sandwich, a must-try for fans of classic Southern fare. This sandwich featured juicy fried chicken, crisp pickles, and a rich creamy sauce, all nestled within a buttery biscuit that offered softness with the crunch.
We appreciated the generous size of the sandwich, which was satisfying without being overwhelming.
Guacamole Smash

To add a refreshing contrast to the hearty main courses, the Guacamole Smash was suggested.
This dish consists of guacamole, tomato, a, egg, and their signature sauce, all on a biscuit.
The dish felt light yet fulfilling. Its fresh flavors provided a nice balance to the richer offerings. Health-conscious diners will find this dish particularly appealing, as it offers a tasty option without skimping on flavor.
Loaded Mac & Cheese
To top off our meal, we couldn’t resist trying the Loaded Mac & Cheese. This is comfort food defined, with creamy cheese sauce, crispy fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and green onions.
Each spoonful offered richness and decadence, making it a perfect dish to share—or keep all to yourself! If you are searching for a filling addition to your meal, the Loaded Mac & Cheese is not to be missed.

To-Go Options

Another convenient aspect of Rise Southern Biscuit and Righteous Chicken is their to-go option. If you are looking for a quick lunch while working in Downtown Orlando or perhaps looking for a bite on your way to an event at the KIA Center, this can be a lifesaver. The convince of walking in, taping your name, and then inputting your order number to receive your order makes this just as good, if not better than a fast-food option.
Sharing a meal with friends in one of Orlando's beautiful parks can be a delightful experience. The easily portable containers kept my meal fresh and intact, allowing me to focus on enjoying my time in this vibrant city.
The Good
From the friendly staff, delicious food, and the charming atmosphere, if you are looking for good Southern comfort food for a reasonable price, definitely check this place out. Everything we had was really tasty, and we all left more impressed than we expected. While we might not make a special trip to come back, when we are in the area, I am sure we will be back for more, especially for the cinnamon roll, which may actually warrant a special trip.
The Not-So-Good
There is very little we have negative to say, but with this being in Downtown Orlando, parking isn't quite as straightforward as many other locations around the tourist districts of Orlando. We were unable to find on-street parking, and opted for a parking garage nearby that did cost a little money, but these are normal Downtown Parking woes, so as long as you come prepared for that, everything else is spot on.
