Rafiki's Planet Watch
OIC Take
Mandi's Take
Being able to see Mickey and Minnie in their Safari gear gives Animal Kingdom a special offering for characters. This tends to have a long wait, so if you are interested in seeing these characters, try do this early in the day.

We love waving at the characters as they pass under a bridge. It just brings an extra fun element to see characters out and about without having to wait in line to see them.
Angie's Take
Be on the lookout for characters floating down the river. These are a fun addition to this park.
Flotillas and Sightings
Mandi's Take
Throughout the park you will find Pluto, Goofy, Chip 'N Dale, and so many more dressed for the theme and ready to interact with guests. Since Animal Kingdom does have fewer attractions than the other Disney Theme Parks, fitting in Meet and Greets is an easier thing to do, even if it isn't your priority, and can also give you a reason to take up the full day at Animal Kingdom.
Angie's Take
Meet and Greets can be a fun way to spend part of your day. The characters have a fun way to interact with kids and adults alike. Animal Kingdom brings an interesting twist on all of your Disney favorites with costumes to match the esthetic of the park.
Mandi's Take
A nice little trail, tucked away in Dinoland USA. Though characters are there most of the time, when they aren't, it is a quiet spot to roam.

Cretaceous Trail
Mandi's Take
Tucked into the roots of the Tree of Life, you can get nice and close look at the tree with all its intricate detail work, and you can even spot some animals who call the base of the tree their home. Ever since I found these trails I have fallen in love with the calmer atmosphere, along with getting the full experience of the Tree of Life. I definitely recommend taking thirty minutes out of your day to wander through these trails.
Angie's Take
This trail is accessed from Asia or Africa and both are somewhat hidden and because of this, generally less crowded than other parts of the park. You can leisurely stroll around the Tree of Life and see carvings, tunnels, and waterfalls.
Mandi's Take
Woven into part of the Safari landscape, take a walk to see gorillas, zebras, monkeys, meerkats, hippos, and more! This is a must do for me when we go to Animal Kingdom and is very easy to incorporate into your schedule with it being right next to the Kilimanjaro Safari, and you can choose how long you take.
Angie's Take
Love to explore this trail. It has more than gorilla's too. If you have time for a little hike this is one of my favorites.
Mandi's Take
Seeing the tigers is such a joy, and who doesn't love seeing a Komodo Dragon? The theming of the area makes you feel like you are in an abandoned city near Thailand, which offers an atmosphere of finding the tigers in the wild.

Mandi's Take
Walking into Animal Kingdom, you are greeted right away to Animals at the Oasis Exhibits. I feel like this area often gets overlooked as people rush to the Safari, Pandora, or to see the Tree of Life, but there are a couple of really cool animals in this area, and the quiet pathways with waterfalls is worth a walkthrough, at the very least, at the end of your day.

Mandi's Take
The only reason we stop by the Boneyard is because my kid really likes running around there, and being able to dig up "fossils" in a pebble pit is a great way to entertain children. Growing up through I don't recall ever caring to go into it when there were rides I would rather stand in line for. So, if your have a child that needs to run off some energy in a more contained area, definitely check this out, otherwise, I don't find it to be a must do, and your time could be better used elsewhere.

When standing in line, looking for something to do, having the Play Disney App is a fun way to pass the time. From looking for stuff in line, or triggering a fun extra around the park, it's worth considering downloading.

Mandi's Take
Taking a break from walking and the sun to learn from animators how to draw your favorite Disney Characters is worth the time away from other attractions.
Angie's Take
This is one of my favorite activites in all of Walt Disney World. Located in Conservation Station you follow the instructions of an animator to draw your own Disney Character, and you have a souvenir to take home!
Mandi's Take
If you have ever wanted to pet a goat, now is your chance! I love that they give people the chance to interact positively with animals, and though I am not one to go out of my way to pet animals, I appreciate that they have the experience.
Angie's Take
This is part of Rafiki's Planet Watch. A fun train ride will get you this area of the park and you can pet some of your favorite animals, or have a chance to brush them if you desire.

Kora Tinga Tinga
Mandi's Take
This building houses some extremely creepy crawlies that are extremely interesting to look at when they are behind glass. If you take the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, this is the main portion of the area, so you might as well take a look around while you are there.
Angie's Take
This is also something I quite enjoy at Animal Kingdom. A short train ride takes you to this location. Here you learn some facts about animals and this is where the drawing class is held. I love this fun activity!
Mandi's Take
Getting to see a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes animal care at Animal Kingdom makes this an interesting ride all while taking you to a remote area of the park that is often a little less crowded than the main areas and makes an enjoyable foliage-filled walk.
Angie's Take
This train takes you to what I think is one of the most enjoyable, and unique experiences in all of Walt Disney World's parks, Conservation Station. A petting zoo, a chance to learn about animal conservation through talks and digital displays, and an animation class are all waiting. I highly recommend this, however it is a bit time consuming.
