Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party transforms Magic Kingdom into a family-friendly Halloween celebration filled with exclusive entertainment, Disney Characters, trick-or-treating, specialty food and spooky surprises. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is designed to be spooky rather than frightening. There are ghosts, villains, skeletons, dark lighting and Haunted Mansion references, but there are no haunted houses or scare actors chasing guests. Very young or sensitive children may find certain characters or entertainment slightly creepy, but the overall atmosphere is playful and festive.

Characters at MNSSHP

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party offers opportunities to meet Disney Characters wearing Halloween costumes, along with characters who do not regularly appear in Magic Kingdom. Popular and rare characters can attract some of the longest waits of the evening. Guests hoping to meet a particular character should make that experience a priority.
See our MNSSHP Tricks, Treats & Party Extras for confirmed characters, locations and wait-time tips.

Rides and Halloween Overlays
Many Magic Kingdom attractions remain open during the party. Some rides may have lower wait times later in the evening, but riding too many attractions can take time away from party-exclusive experiences. Select attractions also receive Halloween touches, including special music, lighting or other changes.
See our MNSSHP Rides and Halloween Overlays Guide for the complete attraction list and tips for deciding which rides are worth your party time.
Costumes at MNSSHP
Guests of all ages may wear costumes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but Disney’s rules vary by age. Costumes must be family-friendly and may not include realistic weapons, dangerous accessories or materials that could affect other guests.
See our MNSSHP Tricks, Treats & Party Extras for all costume rules.
How to Make the Most of the Party
Five official party hours pass quickly, and it is difficult to experience every show, character, attraction, food item and treat trail in one night. Choose your top five priorities before arriving. These may include meeting a rare character, watching both the parade and fireworks, collecting candy or trying exclusive foods. Arriving at 4:00 PM also allows you to complete regular park activities before the exclusive entertainment begins.
